Human Resources & Customer Relations

As more occupational therapists, psychologists and health workers see the benefits of “A Sense of Calm,” the more situations they suggest for its use, particularly in the area of health and wellbeing of clients and staff in the workplace.

“A Sense of Calm” can be used in all manner of work related environments to bring about relaxation and relieve stress.

These include –

Waiting rooms – Research has shown that people often become tense while sitting in doctor’s waiting rooms, so blood pressure readings are sometimes higher than
is normal for them. The same is true of corporate waiting rooms, which can be intimidating, making an interviewee or salesperson under-perform and give a false representation of their talents.

Employee quiet, or meditation, rooms can give employees a break from the stress of the working day, often increasing productivity.

“A Sense of Calm” could also be helpful in Airport lounges and on in-flight entertainment channels to calm nervous flyers and tense passengers.

It has also been suggested that “A Sense of Calm” could be use as moving art for digital photo-frames, to create a relaxing atmosphere in the home and corporate buildings.

We will never ignore our original inspiration for creating our collection of sensory DVDs, namely to help improve the quality of life and wellbeing of those suffering
from dementia and other mental and health related conditions and we are by no means claiming this to be a panacea for all ailments, but we are certain that as our collection expands, more and more beneficial uses will be found for this approach
of relaxation therapy.

Please read our Home and General Relaxation Pages for more information on
“A Sense of Calm.”

"Thank you for letting me have a copy of your "A Sense Of Calm" DVD: it was very helpful.
My daughter has an unbalanced translocation of chromosomes, causing severe learning difficulties and early onset dementia, which leave her often confused and agitated. Your DVD proved very effective in calming her and giving her the opportunity to enjoy and engage with an involving and immersive visual stimulus. It helped her to relax and it helped me to take some of the stress out of her day. ”
Vicky Thompson-Carr Essex

"Initially we trialled the DVD in the Dementia wing, then progressed to the general Nursing wing.  As a result of the wonderful calming effect the DVD has, we decided to purchase a mobile sensory unit, promoting the use of the DVD throughout all the wings of the home."
- Annie Bairstow Matron RN RMN MW. Castle View Nursing Home, Peel.

"I recently gave this DVD to my father who had suffered from a stroke. A side effect of treatment medication was broken sleep and erratic tense spasm movements.”  “Not only does my father find the DVD relaxing at these times but my mother found it helps her. As a carer there is little time to relax and the DVD has given her a sense of calm when she has popped it on for short periods during the daytime.”
S.Dawe - Southport
